Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) Flower Powder is made from dried blue lotus flowers milled to a fine, soft powder. Nymphaea caerulea is the blue water lily native to the Nile valley and parts of East Africa, also known as the blue Egyptian water lily.

Botanical background

The blue water lily is one of the best-known plants of ancient Egypt. It is depicted throughout Egyptian tomb paintings, temple reliefs, and blue faience ware, and because its flowers open with the morning sun and close at dusk, it became a lasting symbol of the sun and of renewal in Egyptian art.
